04/05/205 PLANNING APPLICATION
1/19/04/30
Mr. & Mrs. G. Fairclough
Retain alterations and extension to dwelling (amendment to P.A. 1/19/03/27) and regrading of garden area at Barrow Cragg, Nutcroft Way, Harwell
During consideration of this planning application, which was an amendment not only to 1/19/03/27, but to an earlier version of 1/19/04/30, a number of local residents present were permitted to voice their concerns and objections.
Resolved:- That Bassetlaw District Council be informed that all seven grounds of objection raised in connection with the original application 1/19/03/30 (Minute No. 04/05/142 of September, 2004 refers) remained extant, and that the following further observations/objections be made:
1. The Parish Council considered this application on the understanding given to Councillor Jefferies by the Planning Department that a garage and pool room shown on the plans were to be disregarded. Members were concerned at the inadequacy of the drawings now submitted which made it impossible to reach a fully-considered judgement.
2. The Parish Council objected to development which had continued since application 1/19/03/27 was lodged, and observed that the new footprint of the dwelling encroached even further on to Nutcroft Way, thus further restricting access to the emergency services.
3. The Parish Council was now aware that there had been excavation and removal of sand from the eastern part of the site, which was a matter of great concern, and it stressed that, as with the northern and western banks, the sand at the eastern boundary should be fully-replaced or the boundary be given full support.
4. The Parish Council objected to any groundworks that did not fully reinstate the whole of the excavated area or provide full support.
5. There was concern that the removal of ground support could affect nearby Barrow Hills Sandpit SSSI, owned by the Parish Council, and managed in partnership between the Parish Council and English Nature.
6. There was acute concern over the fact that ongoing development at this site had not been monitored by Bassetlaw District Council, thus leading to a loss of amenity to nearby residents with a possible need for recourse to compensation.
7. There was acute concern over the attitude displayed by the applicants over this entire matter.
